I've suffered a lot at ages where you shouldn't have to suffer that much.

So if you haven't suffered as much as I have (this isn't a competition, I just want you to think on this), why do you have your views? At what point did you decide that these are good and reasonable views to have if you personally never suffered much?

I mean none of us here have suffered as much as African children. Yet they all want to live probably more than we do.
it's just a matter of empathy

as class pointed out, 99% of people may not have felt the worst suffering there is, but that still leaves about 1% of the population (~72,000,000 people) who have

and that's obviously not a real statistic anyway, so let's look at some real statistics

whether these impoverished people want to live more than us or not isn't really the point--it's the fact that many people do indeed suffer, and we should account for them--not marginalize them--because when you really look at it, there's a lot more terrible shit in the world than most of us are willing to admit

what i liked the most about the video i posted was how quickly the society fell apart
satan gave the people life, and decided to torture them out of sheer nihilism as a result of their impertinences for each other

satan represents how i view budding parents--he's a natalist nihilist

I remember reading a breakdown of all the symbolism in the video one time but I forget all of it now.
it's pretty clear though
The overall pessimistic outlook on humanity is clear but I'm talking about stuff like the oranges, apples and grapes and why each kid chose the specific fruit.
I'd like to read that.

I've always enjoyed this clip, even if the overall film doesn't quite grab me.

The aesthetic and satan all seem terribly familiar but I'm fairly sure that I've never seen this video before (well besides the million times it's been linked on r/wtf by 14 year olds)
