New wuestion, what is the worst change in your life in the last four years and what how do you expect it to get better/worse depending on who wins
Well I almost joined the National Guard but now I'm banned from joining.

How do you think your life changed because you missed the opportunity?

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

Well I most likely would've been deployed out to help fight the wildfires and to suppress the protests, so...

I became quite disillusioned after the ban officially went into effect (and on my birthday too) and my recruiter ghosted me even though I scored high on my ASVAB. I was looking for stability and structure in my life and thought that going reserves and staying local with the NG would give me that. Tried to join the Conservation Corps after the ban but I was a year too old to join. Then I lost both of my jobs to covid. Now I'm at a point where I no longer see a future with any semblance of stability.

That's really sad to hear, and it's so fucked up that you're banned from enlisting. And yeah corona has messed up everything! I sincerely hope you can land another job. In these times it's rough for all workers

Right now the plan is to save up to move to a more civilized country after I'm done with some stuff.

emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
It's kind of sad that American politics has devolved into picking which crusty geriatric white man will be running the country for another four years.

That being said, any American that has a subatomic particle of morality in their body should be voting to get Trump out. Fuck that tub of bumbling butter and his brigade of servile troglodytes.

I'm not ready to reveal my cards yet but there are a few places I'm considering, for a few I'll have to learn a new language but I'm not opposed to the idea. I'm currently majoring in cybersecurity and may pursue something in that avenue but I'm leaving my options open for the time being. If there's one thing I am, it's adaptable. But I'm tired of playing the stockholm syndrome game with this country.

and speaking as someone who voted third party in the last election and would vote third party again, voting third party in THIS election, just because "two party system bad," is also kind of cringe

there's a bigger problem on our hands right now and it must be expunged immediately

Agreed wholeheartedly.
There's so much wrong with the two part system but it's more important getting the literal James Bond villain out of office right now.

I understand if you want Trump out because you don't like his policy or persona, but the way you guys are talking, it makes it seem like gay people are being put in concentration camps and women are being forced into hijabs. The press is still free, the executive and legislature have not been changed to grant him more power, and many democratic institutions within the government like Roe v Wade and Planned Parenthood still exist

You are well within your right to vote for Biden because you hate Trump's court picks, his handling of corona, and even the way he speaks but these are things all presidents do. I just don't see what makes Trump uniquely evil out of the 45 presidents we have had in this country

Not to mention the straight up global pandemic that he's intentionally letting kill thousands of people a week just so he can flex and pretend it's not happening.

Or earlier this year when he almost started WW3 because he just couldn't hold his brown people murder boner in his pants, known terrorist supporter or not.

It really should be sufficient motivation to get Trump out of office when you look at the scoundrels that rally in support of him. If your entire presidency is a magnet for poorly educated, racist dimwits, you might want to do some self-reflection if you genuinely think he's a force of good in the United States.

When siding with the alternative, how much progress do you think is really being made? Besides the base of support that you mention?

Certainly not trying to contradict you here because you're right but,  technically you could look at someone McCain and say the same thing dispute him not actually being particularly horrible in comparison.
Remember all the batshit insane supporters he had to actively distance himself from.
I think it's more telling how the person responds to those less than desirable elements that is more important. And Trump has done nothing but incite those further.

I don't believe Biden will make tremendous progress, because I'm aware that he isn't willing to push this country in the direction I ultimately think is needed to satisfy my expectations for a government. I'm voting for him because the alternative is a man who I genuinely think scrapes brain matter out of the population.

I'm not a politics-savvy person, my area of experience is in the sciences. Because I've dedicated a sizable chunk of my life to studying physics, I have a high level of respect for the input of groups such as climate scientists, virologists, and other researchers whose work has been needlessly politicized by laymen. People aren't capable of admitting they have no clue what the fuck they're talking about, and the dumbest of them just listen to right-wing complainers who are perturbed by the words of scientific consensus because it inconveniences them. They have no foresight or perspective.

As many (If not most) Biden supporters say, it's not because I love Biden, it's because I think Trump is genuine cancer.

I suppose we all thought that one way or another.

Well I almost joined the National Guard but now I'm banned from joining.

Yeah I know, I'm really hoping we can get it within the next year or so. Man needs to come back and shake up the scene a little bit.
