If You Are A False Don't Entry
My job can be pretty damn stressful at times, so to spark some decision on a forum which didn't even last a week before it died: how do you personally deal with stress, whether it is at work, in school, personally? Will post for myself later.

what's a person who doesn't drink or do drugs to do about stress if not absolutely nothing, and just pretend that there's nothing to be stressed about?

i play video games and watch movies and lounge about and shitpost on the interwebs

they tend to be pretty good distractions—if procrastination were an olympic sport, i'd win gold every single year

lately, because i consider myself smart and proactive, i'm trying to come up with strategies to either 1.) stop putting myself in stressful situations, 2.) use the stress as a fuel for productivity in the event that stress is unavoidable

results are thus far inconclusive and require further testing

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

I tend to put my stress aside until I can blow it off at home. But I can kinda cheat and just let go of bad feelings when I want to/when I'm aware of myself enough to do so. I don't think I've actually had to deal with as much stress as normal people when it comes to stuff like work.

Long live NoNolesNeckin.

Ya fuckin' ganderneck.
I suppose I try to be more apathetic towards things that don't really matter in the end, albeit not always very effectively.

When I am stressed I mostly just find an escape like my art, playing a game, listening to music, watching youtube/shows/movies etc.

I know sketching or playing certain games can be very meditative for me.

No but seriously I usually just internalize it until I break and scream.

It's not very healthy, but it gets the job done.

Spoiler
seriously though I play video games, take my dog on a walk, smoke cigs (bad bad bad), and bitch about my issues to my best friend

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
Usually it's work related, so I keep at it. The stress is coming from not knowing or understanding something, so the only remedy is to work at it until I do, or accept that it isn't my expertise, like maths. If it's a looming deadline, working will solve it, because doing something else to "remove" the stress doesn't actually do the job, it's making the deadline closer and the stress higher.

What I do doesn't really remove the stress, it just keeps me focused enough to work through it rather than freak out about it, get nothing done, and then have a bigger problem to solve later.

For bigger things like planning for my future and jobs and all that depressing stuff, I follow the age-old plan of "I can't stress about it if I don't think about it".

Internalizing stress directs it straight towards your physical health, eventually making you chronically ill or in pain.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
Think about suicide

like other people have said, find distractions if there's nothing you can reasonably do to deal with the issue, some things I do:

- gym
- music, I listen to a lot of music
- video games to some extent
- talk to my friend about it

As much as I appreciate your concern... I was really joking. I'm terrible at keeping stress in. I'm definitely a complainer and nothing is better than sitting down with the husband and best friends and bitching about our days.

That's good. Complaining isn't great for you, but not complaining can be worse if you don't quite have the capacity for apathy.

Verb, I'd like to take the time to apologize for everything negative thing I've ever said to you. You literally just described me to the bone (save for #2 on how to handle the stress), I feel I can operate on your wavelength.

I know I've read they've done studies that complaining is bad for your health. I've tried to go without complaining, but I tell you it's like an addictive drug.

Pretty much video games, music, or some shows here and there.

God knows I need it recently, but even now I generally feel deflated.

Depends where the stress is coming from

Stress from work: I use it to do even BETTER work.

Emotional stress: Long Drives and Reading in some foreign place such as a bookstore or a random park

Most people find the gym a good stress reliever, and while it definitely can be sometimes, I've noticed that I'm so into the gym it's more of a necessity/job for me now and that being stressed can sometimes fuck up my workouts.

I never considered reading in a foreign place. I'll have to try that with a light novel I've been meaning to read anyway.

Excuse me, I'm full of dog poison
I have a friend who's really good at talking shit. I'm no slouch either, so I usually just say something slick to him and air that shit out.

It's odd how relieving talking shit to someone is.
