I'm selling my cars before I go to Japan and nobody has responded except for typical spam calls. What the fuck? It's a great car (2014 Mazda 3), reasonably priced, etc. I got an appraisal at Carmax which was $1,500 the lowest price I'd take, so I'm really only interested in private sales.

Anyone sold a car before? What the fuck am I doing wrong?

It's hard to sell what you have for that much. As reasonably priced as it may be, if you're in a rush to sell, consider lowering it to somewhere around 10, or you can try the "Best Offer" option, too.

Like I said, no one wants to buy these days. A car for 14 isn't too tasty an offer when you can spend roughly equal on a brand new car.

Used is really bad, you will have to wait for that. There are a werid customer base in used car purchases. And they usually include students or families. Most of those are looking below 10k. My family has good money but even they are cheap, I got my car at 2k and did 1k in repairs.

Going to be hard to find someone willing to pay 14k on something especially on a car.

Trouble is new(ish) cars depreciate so much. They're really hard to sell even with the condition yours is in, and Mazda 3's are kind of not the highest demand vs. their supply.

Cars in general take a long time to sell and I tend to look at newer econoboxes as a bit of a waste of money when you can get a good condition R34 GT-T for less than $10k.

Look around on various websites and see how much people are selling the same car with a similar used history.

That's pretty typical for that year, trim, and mileage. I'm expecting to negotiate down to 13 or so.
