How can we trust atoms if they make up everything?

No. It's the space between the quarks that make up stuff like protons and neutrons, the space between protons and neutrons and the space between the nucleus and electrons.

I mean, if you scaled an atom up to the size of a solar system (the nucleus being the star), the furthest electron would be several times the radius of said system away from the nucleus (Like, many tiems the distance of Pluto to Sol)
