How does one update their wardrobe?

I am looking at all these clothes and i am scared, want a more semi-formal look, close to a suit but not a suit. I dress very casually but need to up my ante. Anyway any of you guys male fashion counselors?

Seriously though, just find a Nordstrom or Calvin Klein and look around for something you like.
I'd go with slim fitting jeans, an undershirt, and a button up, sleeves rolled up, a nice watch, nice shoes.

Nah, I get you. I did the same thing up until I was 18. I bought my own clothes for special occasions, such as dates. all the other stuff I use for everyday living and hanging out.

I normally go for something like an unbuttoned dress-shirt, and wear a normal T-shirt underneath, with some dark jeans.  Kinda fancy, but not Aspergers-tier wearing a suit for no reason.
