I don't tip in places where the tips are pooled, I don't want some random person who never served me to get the money that my waitress/waiter for that night deserves. I also have not tipped when the waitress/waiter is a complete cunt about me coming in a little closer to closing time, the only reason I showed up so late was because my wife worked late, and because of that the waitress flat out ignored us multiple times and acted irritated and spiteful towards us throughout the meal.

there are cases where a waiter/waitress is terrible, and they DON'T deserve a god damn penny from anyone they serve, despite the backwards laws that give them a lower pay.

Getting tips is supposed to be a little boost for those who do an outstanding job, not a way for the waiters and waitresses to make up the difference in shitty pay.

one time i was in chinatown, NYC with a few friends. we all placed our orders, and the guy came to the table with an plate of pork fried rice. none of us had ordered an extra plate, and we tried telling that to him, but he kept saying "o no it on da house" "powk flied lice" and just being like ok take it for free. so we did, we divided it amongst ourselves, and they ended up charging us all extra for the plate that we hadnt ordered and had been told was free. so, i didnt tip. i dont think anyone else did either. fuck that guy.
