His dream is literally just to be in charge of a kingdom, Guts doesn't even have a dream. His only motivation is that he wants to heal casca and protect his new friends.

His dream isn't to be in charge of a kingdom, it sounds more like Griffith wants to create a great world for all creatures to live in. He doesn't care about people, he only cares about "the people". He ain't human, nor does he care about anyone. The only thing he cares about is status. In a sense, he's like a god. Gods don't care about people in most religions, they only want lambs that follow and are good, and that's my issue with him.

You don't want to be certain things for the sake of being them, you want to be them for a specific reason. Which aspect of being a king would interest Griffith? The status, the power, or the crown looking good on his head?
