Well when I'm on a brownie the high lasts longer - usually like 5-6 hours - and it's more of a body high

I heard edibles are nothing like smoking weed. I've never tried them, but from what I've heard it's quite intense, and not always in a good way.

If you plan on hiking while your baked then go for something sativa. Indica strains tend to put people into couch lock mode.

As for edibles, they can hit you a lot harder so don't over do it. Personally, I'd rather smoke a little instead of using edibles since there's a good change it will hit you harder than you expected, and then you won't be up for much walking.

tbh, though, I'd actually wait until after the hike to smoke.
