The book is more explicit for sure. Like characters fantasizing about other characters, or getting aroused or whatever. GRRM felt the need to keep the readers updated on how horny Samwell Tarly is at all times.
And I'm not even sure there are fewer sec scenes. While the show.. shows more at times, most of it is in the books too. Like if someone visits a brothel, in the book it might not explicitly say that someone is getting banged in the corner, but the show does.
And I don't remember Daenarys and Cersei briefly becoming lesbians in the show...
