Long live NoNolesNeckin.

Ya fuckin' ganderneck.
Or rather a vendor on Newegg.

Bought another pair of SteelSeries headphones because my current pair is worn to shit. (although they still sound great) After a month wait I receive the new pair (same color) and these fuckers are a cheap Chinese reproduction. The sound quality is garbage in comparison to the real ones, and the plastic is much lighter and less saturated in color. I should've looked into the vendor more, I just don't expect this type of shit when shopping on Newegg. They didn't have a terrible rating, apparently the reviewers just haven't owned the real thing to know that they're getting a fake. Now I have to deal with trying to return them smfh.

Have you ever purchased anything that turned out to be fake from a supposedly reputable site?

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
Nope, I'm very careful about who I buy from even on sites like Amazon.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
I research users I'm buying from online, unless I find a really good deal I pretty much always buy in store. The customer service is better since you can take whatever in store and they're obligated to help.

Can you post the link for the item you bought? If they've described and listed a steelseries headset and you've received some fake Chinese shit surely you can raise this with Newegg, even paypal.

Definitely marketing them as genuine SteelSeries Siberia v2's.

I would get your money refunded asap. Also, this is why I stay away from third party sellers on any website. Ebay is a big risk taker but I check the reviews on the seller first.

Well that's a shit attitude.

This pair (the real ones) was 40 bucks and the sound quality is exceptional for that price. They're also very comfortable.

Honestly it's way better to get yourself a quality audiophile level headset which focuses on audio quality/comfort and just attach a V-Moda or ModMic. Gaming headsets are overpriced garbage in comparison.

An extra $40 $70 is a but much tbh.

V-Moda is 30 bucks. And if you wait for sales you can get a nice headset and a lower price. There's some gaming headsets that for the price would be a better deal, but I guess the point is to never go for "high end" gaming headsets because they're absolute garbage in comparison to audiophile headsets.

I'm more of a speaker man myself, wearing glasses really ruins any chance of a headset being comfortable.

That's where these come in handy.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007R58NPK

no i mean the proprietary detatchable cables on the headphone side

AKG uses mini XLR

http://www.audiophonics.fr/7135-thickbox_default/amphenol-ag4f-mini-xlr-4-pin-for-audeze-akg-o-7mm-unit.jpg

audio technica use their wierd locking thing

http://cdn.head-fi.org/b/b5/b51fbd56_26P1260012.jpeg

superlux have a male 3.5mm

if you have to plug something in between those its going to make the boompro wobbly, probably the best pair of mid fi headphones for this would be the philips shp9500 since its just 3.5mm

http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/newegg/26-138-190-Z06?$S1280$

yes theres people who have adapters on top of their AT headphones but that lowers the boom even further and its another link in the chain

Well I guess it won't work for everything so that's where you should be turning to the ModMic instead. Also the locking mechanism is an easy fix, my Seinnheiser had that too and all it requires is taking out a few screws and removing a small plastic piece. I've got my BoomPro on my Sennheiser that I use for my PC and my Xbox. It's definitely better than any traditional gaming headset I've used, and a fraction of the cost for the audio quality.

What Seinnheisers do you have?

598, got it on sale brand new for half price. They're pretty nice, but eventually I want to upgrade to something even better. What I love about using them on my Xbox though is that I can hear other players' footsteps in the direction they're coming from. It's awesome. Listening to music with them also makes me want to just lay back and close my eyes.

Fair enough, most Seinnheisers I've seen are exponentially more expensive than even top quality gaming headsets. These look like the way to go tho and I'm sure they have much better sound quality.

you get what you pay for, there are senns in every price range, except with them their audio quality is usually fair same with the price you pay

gaming headsets can even have good build quality but they could still use bad hardware, that's why they're cheaper

you'd still get better results from a modmic and a superlux

the only headsets youll find in that range are all "gamer" brands, they might look nice but they won't compare to any half decent headphones for the same price that you could stick a modmic/boompro on

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1RL22OT5OlcFRJZMHXIGv89zPED1BbJ2P6ZxCWWRy0GY/viewform

if you really absolutely want a headset for that price im not going to stop you but it will be a compromise

Yeah it took me forever to decide on one headset. When it comes to headphones, it really is different for everyone. Everyone has different ideas if what's the most comfortable, what type of soundstage sounds the best, whether or not you want open ear or closed ear, on the ear vs around the ear, etc etc etc. There's a lot of options, though most would agree that there are certain brands and models to gravitate towards and others to stay far away from.

I gotta see if they make ones specifically for people who wear glasses, neither on ear or over ear are comfortable.

then it doesnt matter what you get for that price because everything around that price is going to be subpar unless you can find a used or refurbished sennheiser headset or hyper x cloud/cloud 2

i actually suggest you look around to see if you can find either of those refurbed, sennheiser has an outlet website here that sell refurbished headphones direct from them at cut prices

You just sent me down a headphone wormhole. So many options
