The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

I love how he's the Mario of the Spartans. Not the strongest like Sam, not the fastest like Kelly, not the smartest like god-knows-who, not the most accurate like Linda, he doesn't have Kurt's 'sixth sense', he doesn't have John's copious amounts of plot armor...he's just sort of well-rounded and with no standout talent, apart from his knives.

Still, I see no weeb stuff in Halo. Its super western, in the leagues of Star Trek, Star Wars, Warhammer 40k and America.
