For those who no longer live at home, how often do you talk to your parents?

I make sure to call my mum a few times a month, just to check up on her and make sure things are okay and to see if there's anything that needs to be done around the house. I'm a good boy.

My dad on the other hand. Last time I spoke to him was on Christmas. I don't really like him much, but that's a story for another time.

“I’ve become skeptical of the unwritten rule that just because a boy and girl appear in the same feature, a romance must ensue. Rather, I want to portray a slightly different relationship, one where the two mutually inspire each other to live - if I’m able to, then perhaps I’ll be closer to portraying a true expression of love.”
For the time being I'm living at home and I sparingly talk to my mother. I haven't seen my father for 12 or so years. When I move out I don't think I'll keep in touch.

I'm not gonna pry any further, but that sucks.

By my mother's own generosity I'm still alive today. I owe it to her, and she's a nice lady ya know?

My mother is a good person, but our personalities are incompatible (both being stubborn and quick-tempered). I'm grateful she took care of my physical needs, and I owe her some kind of compensation in return. Beyond that I don't see any emotional obligation I have to her other than being mother and son, and to me that isn't important enough to keep contact in the long run.
