Reading about the Salem Witch Trials makes me sick to my stomach

Even when I read about the Holocaust or American slavery, I don't get emotional. I'm pretty detatched. But something about the SWT really pisses me off. I don't know why...any ideas?

It's probably because of how irrational the whole thing was. Nothing about the fear of witches made any sense, and how they went about "proving" if someone was a witch pretty much made it so the accused had no chance.

But eh, we've come a long way.

Is it closer to home for you?
Do you have a connection to it in some way that makes it affect you more than, say, the holocaust?

You say Starch summed it up, but the same could be said about a lot of things, that this in particular impacts you is odd.
