Thinking about it, Frieza really will have more interesting character dynamics than Buu (doesn't change the fact I'm mad Buu is gone)

Like, he's got to work with the man who killed him, Vegeta after destroying his planet, Beerus and Supreme Kai maybe blaming him for the low mortal level, etc.

Probably the most hype thing to happen in DBS. For me at least. If he got more screen time, he'd probably my favourite overall character in Dragon Ball -- this could be the shot he needs.

I was thinking him too, but really, he'd only be a cool ally if Gohan was the main/main-er character. As it stands, Goku is the main character, and his rival has always been Frieza.
