Do you respect someone more or less when you learn they are religious?

I'm fine with whatever somebody feels like placing their faith in.

But as soon as their attention shifts to me and they start making the moves on me, any suggestion to convert or such.

I grow displeased.

I worded that poorly. I meant to say that an atheist has, by default, 30 more IQ points than that of a theist.

I literally give no shit. Once they start arguing with people over whether God exists or not is when I draw the line and think they might be an asshole.

There is one friend who follows Christianity strictly enough to not have pre-marital sex, and my general feeling is "fair play", but more because that's pretty difficult in modern society, not because he's doing it for his religious beliefs.

My respect is generally based on how someone presents themselves until I can get a deeper understanding of their values and factor that in (although it doesn't become the 'end all' factor).

hard to say. depends on sort of mental gymnastics theyre performing to justify themselves. i tend to respect everyone's beliefs equally though and i dont go out of my way to convince people there is no god.

Less most of the time, but this is speaking from experience, and then it's always accompanied by other bad things.

Cool religious people that I've encountered always follow up with "but I'm not sure if the god I think is the real god. Something like that. I believe there's some kind of god."
