By Challenger, yes. I've made a report but I'm not sure whether it's been acted on, I'll go check.

if you haven't received a response, chances are, the mods don't agree with your grievances

at that point, if you care enough, you can question them personally

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh my god I can't believe being called a dingo bothers you this much. Thank you based Kiyo for letting us know how to puch Elegiac's buttons.
i mean

you realize it's not the word itself being said that bothers him

it's that... you are trying to piss him off, actively
you admit to it, even

actively trolling someone is kinda... finish the sentence for me

like, you could be using any word to get under his skin, and it wouldn't matter

the fact that you're trying to get under his skin at all is what he's reporting you for

2/3 of your reports have been acted upon elegiac, the third one doesn't actually constitute rulebreaking though.

As Psy pointed out, I'm right in the middle of my exams now. The next month and a half is going to be the busiest period of the semester for me. It means that I'll be at home studying a lot, so I'll probably have my laptop and Sep7 open the entire day, but most of that time will be spent AFK and refreshing for reports every few hours.

Also, a lot of staff decisions aren't taken by individual mods or monitors. Whenever it's something more serious or important, we usually end up discussing it in the staff chat and don't always take action right away. Patience, young padawan.
And as I said, fair enough.

Jesus, why does everybody here insist on causing drama?

I will say, however, that the moderation system genuinely needs more transparency.

No, not that much. The moderation team still needs to remain "above" the community as it were.

I think a good start would be more communication between the users and the moderators. Such as a "We've got your report, and have done X or Y", or "We've got your report and the whole team is considering it".

I don't know about the volume of reports, which could make such a thing difficult. That could, however, be remedied by either a larger moderation team, a more standardised system of assessment and punishment and a more inclusive role for the monitors. The first one, of course, is least desirable as you want to maintain the ratio at something reasonable, although expanding the remit of monitors to act as communicators on behalf of the ninjas - sort of like press secretaries - could be a potential solution.

We shouldn't have access to the chat logs, though.

Maybe replace the default report functionality with a ticket system? Then reports would be separate from PM's and reports could be closed when they've been dealt with.

Hmm, as for the letting people know I usually keep on top of that about their reports. It depends on the time of day/how busy things are though. Or if someone is chimping the shrek out in a thread it's usually obvious when the reports have been acted on >.>

However... the idea of using monitors as little press secretaries is amusing a good one actually. They can relay the information for the mods if the mods are dealing with an outbreak of shrektal torsion.

I think that's kind of how it works on the mods end at least, we have a seperate area for the report queue and you can close them when they are dealt with.
