Because being a hippie with long hair was a cultural icon in the 60s that has ended. For example, after the 60s came the 70s when everyone had an afro but you don't see people saying to people with afro's "you goddamn disco, get back to the saturday night fever!" For example, a lot of women have long hair and you don't see people saying "you goddamn hippie, get back to the kitchen!" If women were hippies then we'd all be eating beans and lentils all the time instead of alpaca fried quail steaks and beer.

So what is the True Story? Because reality can differ from the chronicles.

Why limit it to hair cuts? Have you ever hear about girls that think that all men should be bald and muscular? They'd react strangely if they saw a man with hair. Strange as opposed to normally. I think that once an abnormality becomes more popular, it becomes more accepted to make fun of.
