If you're obsessed with having money but never have any, you're not seen as hot at all. If you're rich as hell but couldn't care less about it, you're hot because of your wealth.

I've walked past anime club gatherings at our school. They look like zombie communions from the outside. Like, if you combined the will to live of every attendee there it couldn't rival the total at a cemetery.

If that's the kind of thing you mean by "obsession" then I don't think any intelligent being would find that hot. Except the 30+ people surely boiling inside of that room of course.
