does this stuff even work?
so dating back all the way to a couple to years ago, periodically drinking coffee has been making me feel like shit afterwards. for a while i thought maybe its from too much sugar. so recently i stopped loading it down with sugar and its still the same. i just sorta have a shit feeling afterwards. any guess on whats going on(besides me being a colossal fgt)?

The same happened to me once upon a time.
I quit coffee altogether for years, and returned to it with a new approach.

I no longer use a coffee maker. Now I use presses.
I only use purified, if possible distilled, water.
I don't use sugar. If I need sweetness I use sweet-n-low, but I seldom do that even.
I don't use milk. Half and Half, or some sort of thick cream is the way to go.
I steep the grinds like looseleaf tea, which adds to the body.
I buy darker roasts, and if I'm in the mood for something lighter, I simply use less or add more cream.
When possible, I cold brew.

Doing all of these things reduces the acidity of the beverage, which will prevent the bad feeling.
People say adding cardamom to your coffee will significantly reduce acidity, but I've never tried it.

It's either that or a neurological reaction to the caffeine, but I assume you eat chocolate and drink sodas, plus you said frappes don't really set you off.

Try a darker roast (less acid and caffeine), throw a good pinch of salt on top of your grounds before you brew, make sure you're using the right ratio of coffee to water (2 heaping scoops/tbsp per 6oz), and use filtered water.

Or if it's causing issues, just give it up for a while.
