Depression

Has anyone here have depression, or every had one?

I was just wondering what it is and what if felt like for you. Also if you used to, how did you get over it?

Yeah, I've been through bad depression lots of times. What helped me get over it was knowing that life is full of ups and downs.

I didn't get over it, I got used to it.
The way I see it, it's like a really bad wound that healed over. You can work around it and get used to it, but it'll never fully heal and always be there.

Depression is a natural thing. It's a slump in your feelings and overall mood and tone. Everybody is subject to it. But it depends on what kind you're talking about.

If you're talking everyday, feeling blue spots, then sure, everybody has them.

If you're talking about something a little more persistent, then yes, folks still have it. Just not in such a greater number.

Personally, I write. Or, I move around. I work. Make something, do something, and tire myself out. In that tiredness I gain an appreciation for the fact that I'm alive to even feel that, and that I'm here to witness something being built from the world around me.

And then, I move forwards.

Mini ones that pop up for an hour then go away, it pisses me off really, one minute I'm neutral and fine, the next I'm gloomy.

Ups and downs like everybody else. Nothing serious. I know it'll pass but even though I'm aware it still lingers for a while.

You just square your jaw, and practice enjoying things. Start with the little things. It also helps if you can get inspired. Books, movies, something in real life, whatever. Make it a game, and don't stop until you've won.

Yep, severe clinical depression.

Life sucks. Get over it, or you'll be left behind. You're not a special snowflake and no one is going to hold your hand. You are insignificant in the grand scale of the universe and your whole life is just a blip in it's life span. Do what you gotta do to survive.

Life will always throw curve balls at you, and you just need to work your way over them. Believe in an afterlife? Great, you've got something to look forward to. You don't? Well, then this is the only life you'll ever get. Actually live it, instead of moping around feeling sorry for yourself. That won't accomplish anything.
