Yoda's saber skills were fine in my opinion.

But the fight between Yoda and Sidious was my biggest complaint about Episode 3. No way that such a powerful Jedi loses in a duel like that. I get they had to make Sidious succeed for the story to make sense, but it could have happened lots of other ways.

The fight gets interrupted by something big happening, I dunno. But making Yoda lose is just stupid.

I think the fight in ROTS was nothing short of epic, but it would have been better if it was the first and only time we see Yoda fight. The AOTC duel was pretty pointless tbh.

But Yoda losing is the only way it can go. He's Doomed By Canon to fail. When 900 years old you reach, break your back, you will.

Like christ, he's so small that he needs to do these crazy flips just to get normal swings in so give another Jedi that duel or make the duel entirely force based. Just forgo the lightsabers in the first place because the force is apparently much more powerful.

Yoda's the stronger Jedi, but Mace was an unrivaled swordsman. Yoda fights two Sith lords (Dooku and Palpatine), and loses to both. Mace defeated the Emperor (like it or not, it's canon; Lucas has said Mace was winning the fight, and that Palps wasn't faking it).

It is. Lucas fucked up his own creation. Yoda and Palpatine should be so strong that they never even have to pull out a lightsaber, or even move around to fight. We see a little bit of that in RotJ with Palpatine's 'battle meditation' or whatever is canon now; he can win huge battles from the comfort of his throne room just by willing it to happen.

well Yoda didn't loose to dooku. dooku tried the pull that metal thing down on obi-wan and anakin and as yoda was stopping the thing from falling on them, dooku fled. With Palpatine, it was similar. when they both got blown away, palps just held on to that thing while yoda fell off, which led to palps escaping.
