there was no reversing what bungie did. the community was extremely vocal about our opinions. they never listened. they didnt manage the site properly, kept minimal oversight over the ninjas (who were actually ok as a whole, but there were a few really bad eggs,) and followed the money trail wherever it led. they were the architects of their own destruction.



edit: besides, it was honestly never a utopian paradise anyway. the mains were clusterfucked. private groups were generally hostile to each other and offsites caused more sectional dysfunction later in b.old's life. it was unstable for a long time and imploded on itself.

They listened pretty well... to the community forum. You know, where they talked about the site itself in a meta sort of way? Yeah, that place that we never really understood what to do in? Were like, people circlejerked the mods and staff and tried to get questions in the mail sack? They wanted everything that b.next was.

it was impossible to get a word in edgewise in the community forum if you werent a massive cocksucker. ugh.


they really should have outsourced multiplayer design philosophy to the best halo players on the site, too. if we had been allowed equal balance input with their internal designers we could have kept halo 3 and reach constantly updating with new balance changes to make sure we could reach an optimal experience for all players. destiny would have been an entirely different beast to deal with, but that may have happened differently in an alternate timeline where bungie didnt fuck up...

Personally I don't feel like Bungie is Bungie anymore. I mean, all the people that made up the young buck we knew left, and they left a much different beast. Overflow from the halo forums used to be our new blood but those who destiny brought in were... different, and so what used to be the advantage of being on the B.net, faded.
