was just clearing out some of the body parts from the machine we scrapped and our dumpster fell on the arch of my foot (just past the steel toe). been limping from pain ever since. my boss told me not to tell the doctor it was at work because the paper work you have to do isnt worth it when you know youre going to get better. i just dont want to get jipped out of pay if im not allowed to work for awhile by not telling them it was at work.

Excuse me, I'm full of dog poison
Always file for comp. Even if it's just a bruise, better safe than sorry.

well he specifically told me not to so if i do tell the doctor it was at work, will i be the only one doing the paperwork or will he have to do some as well?

Doesn't matter, he's trying to avoid paying. Y'all got free healthcare tho, don't you?

Sounds like your boss just doesn't want the hassle.

If its serious, file for workers comp. If its not, just work through it.

Go to the doctor in your network, get reimbursed for your copay if they charge one, and file for comp if it results in loss of time.

When you go to a doctor in your insurance plan, you typically pay a fee for examinations, services, or prescriptions. Like $20-50.

Is there light duty stuff you can do at work? Maybe run the cash register or phone or something? I had basically the same incident occur working at a grocery store (hairline fracture on the arch of my foot, but not a break) and refusing to let it heal will just make things worse.

eh, not really. the offices are pretty much taken care of and we dont have any cash registers or anything like that.

if i end up being unable to work, i dont think theyll jip me out of pay, even if i dont file. i just want to be sure. the people here are good people.

If you're still in pain, then it's serious. If you suspect it's more than just a simple bruise, I would go to the docs.

Oooohhh, here in the US you have to file a claim to receive benefits. They pay medical and lost wages from time off.

If you don't file you receive neither. Trying to file after the fact also gets pretty messy. Always safest to file at the time of the accident and get checked out as soon as possible.
