I love them, especially Ghost in the Shell

oh i forgot to add, anyone else feel like Totally Spies! is an homage to bubblegum crisis? maybe its just another fempower show and im seeing too many parallels

Oh, I thought it was some kind of live event by the way you phrased it.

I've never seen an actual anime like that, but Totally Spies was the shit. I loved that show when I was a kid.

I've never seen an actual anime like that, but Totally Spies was the shit. I loved that show when I was a kid.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is really good. It's about a Special Operations police squad in a futuristic Japan where "cyberization" (getting computer/mechanical implants) is becoming a societal norm, and it addresses the philosophical implications of highly advanced AI and The Ship of Theseus, as well as expounding on the concept of a "stand alone complex," "a phenomenon where unrelated, yet very similar actions of individuals create a seemingly concerted effort"

its super cool. there's a manga, two films, two seasons of the SAC series, and at least one OVA that i know about

two animes. one is really old, "Bubblegum Crisis." there's a new, sequelish version from the 90s called "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040"
