the last one looks the easiest but would still be hard, and I did mostly post these for ideas. If you did do any of them though I would be very impressed.

Before I go about carving into some virgin pumpkins, how do I even go about it? Should I sharpie the initial lines and have varying knife lengths or something?

You're going to want to coat the entire inside of the pumpkin with gasoline after you're done carving to really get the colors to pop out.

Sounds fairly reasonable to me.
