I'll occassionally get an assignment that reads "Ian, please meet with X Manager over at the office." It's usually over minuscule stuff I ask about but it's still nerve wracking.

Yeah, except they're usually asking me for my opinion.

When I was a pitmaster I had no interest in becoming a manager, because I actually enjoyed the job I already had, for the love of meat.

So my boss asked me to keep an eye on the butcher one night when no manager was in to see how well he handled a command role.

When I worked for Farmers, my boss wanted me to help him break down a training lesson on our latest underwriting release, before he briefed our unit.

Chin up, its usually a good thing.
