Book Thread Mk2

ITT recommend books I should buy.

My preferred genres would be Sci-Fi/Military stuff for fiction.
Examples being 40K books, Metro 2033, Sharpe Series and Crowner John.

However, despite my appetite for reading I haven't read a whole lot of sci-fi books outside of the black library stuff >.>

So, recommend shit that I should get over christmas.

And if anyone could tell me which of the Dune books I should get, I would be grateful >.>

Also there's some Mass Effect books. Haven't read them so I don't know what they're like.

I also add Star Wars republic Commando and some of the Starcraft stuff.

I should maybe point out that I already have some of the halo books (But not the forerunner stuff... the first book was bleugh so I didn't follow that series)

However, I find Broken Circle, TFoR-First Strike and Contact Harvest to be particularly good in that series.

Awesome. I live in bongland so I may order it then let you know how it is. I loved 2033, I hope 34 carries this on. We need more post-nuclear fiction, it's such an interesting genre. Why no Fallout books?

Ehh, I'm happy with the way they did the game. The kind of story that Glukhovsky told, while fantastic, wouldn't make for a very entertaining FPS game.

Well they can suck my plasma rifle, I think all the forerunner demystifying stuff is kind of sad. I enjoyed it a lot more when they weren't turned into petty human reflections.
