I like Princess Mononoke essentially for nostalgia's sake. It's also why Kiki's Delivery Service ranks high (though I recently rewatched Castle in the Sky and it might take Kiki's spot). The grandiose sense of setting was also pretty awe-inspiring as a kid in addition to the action and supernatural stuff.

I actually also like this movie but was disappointed by the resolution. This is still a great song though.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Correction to the other thread, ive seen 3 with one planned. Nausica, Mononoke and moving castle, Laputa planned.

Nausica is my favorite out of these, i loved its setting and designs.

Princess Nausicaa. Easy.

Favourite movie is Nausicaa of the valley of the wind. Its like, my first movie ever and I loved it, still do. I love the setting, the characters the OST and the plot. The novels are great too, I have all of them. I dont know, it's just been my No.1 film since I was like ... little. jeez.

There's like... levels of mainstream in Ghibli.
The "classics" like Princess M, Spirited Away, and Nausicaa are things a lot of weebs have seen.
But Studio Ghibli has 21 movies, 2 games (that I know of), at least one anime series (which like no one's seen).
If you ask someone if they know what "My Neighbors the Yamadas" is they'd probably tell you it was some live-action J-drama.
