class stop acting like a chode
tbh it's Verb-tier

All parties may take that as they will
saying someone has a punchable face is saying they're at fault for their facial features

this is not an issue of semantics
Face is shorthand for "typical expressions". Some people look dweeby, some look smug, some look like they practice in a mirror. Regardless, the term (like most lingual shorthand) refers to certain traits that the average person attributes to expression (facial or chosen, such as hairstyle or accessory choice) because of inherent biases created by the media or personal experience.
Like tbh the perfect example of this definition is in this thread, where Verb (wrongly) believes Adam Scott has a punchable face, which is the result of his experiences both personal and from the media (maybe he watched Step Brothers one too many times, idk)
even if this were true, it isnt good

people say "punchable face" like a) it's some universal rule and b) theyre in the right for thinking that way

as soon as you realize you dislike someone because of bias/history/their facial expressions, you should step back and realize youre being shitty, then stop doing it

either you say someone has a punchable face literally, in which you're using bigotry to justify violent thoughts; or figuratively, in which you're using ever-changing moods and (usually) unintentional "negative" expressions to justify violent thoughts

pro backpedaling, but the alternative is bad too
Have I said anything else so far? My b if so, I'm not always great at expressing my points.

And I'm fine with thoughts, so long as they don't become actions or calls-to-action
thoughts shouldn't be crimes or anything like verb thinks, but holding some thoughts is definitely unethical in and of itself

Even then, I could argue the "punchable" bit too. While Shkreli is an evil person, I would personally feel he's been wronged if he was hit outside of some pre-agreed action (for some PR charity or something).

Point is, it doesn't mean that you want a person to be punched, it's just a cultural way of expressing the idea that they exude the very concept of being a terrible person.

I feel that the phrase is evil at worst (if taken at face value) and misleading and unnecessary at best. You can't look at a person's appearance and judge them, that's so fucked up

Disagree. Thoughts aren't conscious; you can have thoughts and simultaneously disagree with them. Penultimate example is OCD, even more specifically Pure-O OCD. Thoughts are the result of the unconscious mind, which deliberates upon all things regardless of a person's ideologies.

Thinking someone has a "punchable face" (only in quotation marks due to the nature of the conversation) is not something someone considers on the conscious level, but the unconscious level.

Nah lol, not fighting against it means nothing but not trying to eliminate the bad subconscious thought from your mind

If I had racist tendencies subconsciously and then one day suddenly realized that, I would be a shitty person if I didn't try to actively change it

I mean, actively changing it would be doing your best to reduce or eliminate that bias. For real, not all thoughts can be eliminated outright. You can just do your best to ignore or act in the opposite of them.
only spoilered to reduce the use of pity points
I have OCD, and it is a living nightmare to have awful thoughts of people I don't know. While it sucks, it has also given me the perspective that all people deal with bad thoughts to some extent, and the good ones are the people who I can't know the bad thoughts of since they decline to act upon them.

I do agree that Andy Dwyer is inferior to Season 2 version and up, as he didn't have as much of a focal point nor the charm that he later aquires in the later seasons but he does not surpass the man who is named "Burt Macklin FBI"
eh, best use of Burt Macklin was in the Snakehole and as a Johnny Karate character. While the couple of episodes of the former were good, the latter is awesome and is (imo) under the spectrum of Johnny Karate.

Okay, that's a subject on its own

but then the whole Wu-Tang album happened after that, plus his offer to other artists to have the sole ownership of their musical creations. After all that, his arguments about the pharmaceutical fiasco seem fabricated at best.
You think so? I think it all kinda makes sense, honestly—he raised the price on his drug because it treats a  rare disease that relatively few people need. Otherwise, the drug doesn't turn a profit, and his company doesn't make the money needed to fund research and development for better drugs. So from there, the only option is to shitcan the drug and have everybody die. If you're insured, you pay a nominal fee for the drug, and the rest of the cost gets paid for by insurance companies and other corporations like Walmart, which stock the drug. If you're NOT insured, you get the drug for free—he's not just gonna let you die.

The only reason I take his word for it is because 1.) regardless of how anyone feels about him personally, he IS a pharmaceutical executive who has intimate connections with the industry; he's an expert, and 2.) no reports have come up where a toxoplasmosis patient (the disease that Martin's drug cures) have died because they couldn't afford the drug. This leads me to believe that they've all been able to afford it.

Also, I can't blame the dude for buying an album that the artists only printed one copy of, intending to make millions off of it. I blame the artist for that. They had him sign a contract stating that he wasn't allowed to share it, either, so it's not like Martin is keeping it from the public. On Periscope streams, he said he viewed the investment as a donation to the hip hop industry—whether or not you buy that is up to you; I'm personally not interested in that whole debacle.

I haven't heard him ask other artists to have sole ownership, but if he did, he was probably trolling—it's what he does now. After the whole drug fiasco, he decided to take up the villain persona in stride. I personally think it's kinda funny, even if he does take it too far sometimes.

I'm not saying I LIKE the guy—he's just playing the capitalist game how it was meant to be played. He seems very intelligent, and he's open for a lot of discussion on these topics. He's said he's open to the idea of single-payer universal healthcare and government-subsidized medicine, among other socialist-friendly ideas. And as far as I know, he hasn't done anything explicitly terrible, as far as I've been able to gather.

But he still has the most punchable face in the world. Can't take that away from him.

Since it goes along with the idea of thought vs action as well, I don't care if he "embraced" his villainy; the appropriate thing would have been to own up to it and then be better from then on. Instead, he said "whatever" and continued to be awful. Realizing you're shitty isn't enough, you should at least make some effort to be less shitty.

idk, it seems more like you'd appreciate him due to him being the perfect example of evil capitalism than anything else. There's no wrong in profit, for example, but the profit margin for the drug was beyond reasonable (which was discussed among analysts for various news networks at length), and the fact that he made a list of artists he'd pay to make an album for him alone in a livestream populated by Wu-Tang fans begging to hear just one song.

try to look at it from his pov though

you're going about your life, and you make a business decision that makes a lot of people angry—despite the fact that bigger price hikes have happened before, yet they weren't publicized at all (two wrongs don't make a right, ik ik)

now all of a sudden, you're up to your ass in journalists claiming that you're the MOST HATED MAN in the country (and perhaps you are, having made a decision that you considered fairly innocuous, and arguably is)

is it not understandable how he'd react in such a way

Knowing that you've made a decision that will make a lot of people angry-- and then digging the trench deeper when more people are angry than you thought would be-- is not justification for continuing to be an asshole. The best response following the incident would have be to respond to the outrage with pure fiscal intent, then to donate a lot of money (but still paltry compared to his earnings) to an AIDS charity. That would have at least put him into "psycho who understands the public" territory, instead of "psycho who just wants to piss people off" territory. One of those is reasonable for the head of a pharmaceutical firm, the other is reasonable for someone on an MTV reality TV drama. Guess which one is which.
