It makes perfect sense to me. How can you form an opinion on something if you never wonder about it? I mean view points don't just exist inherently. You have to contemplate something at least a little if you're going to form an opinion of it.

I don't really have a goal with all this. I'm just curious myself is all.

I'm not exactly a strict follower but it's helped me calm down a lot just trying to live like The Dude. Just abide, man. It's more of a philosophy/self-help sort of thing rather than just trying to say "fuck you" to religion.

Lol, it will take more than that to get me mad. I don't care at all if you try to emulate The Dude's lifestyle, that's actually pretty admirable. I'm talking about the autistics who actually get that mail order certificate and try to become a "priest" of the philosophy. That's pretty cringy.

The only reason I did it is because a bunch of my friends and I had the idea to do it. It's not like we're trying to become preachy priests. One of the tenets of Dudeism is not to preach too much or even at all. Just abide, man. Everything is up for debate and everything is just your opinion, man. But of course the main reason is to improve oneself.

Also, you don't need to order a certificate to become a priest, FYI. Like, most of the people I know who got them are stoner bros and not really fedora tippers. I'm not sure where that comparison came up.

But hey, that's okay.
