Depends on the cat though. There's the really rare special kind that's smarter than the rest. They'd be the kind of cats defending their owners from shit or making a fuss and waking people up when there's a house fire.

Family has a grey cat like that, and that's just one of the rest.

My cat on the other hand was an asshole but he gave a shit if someone was feeling emotional pain. I knew he wasn't himself the moment I found out I was losing him and his behavior changed.

Shit was hard. Really hard to believe that was over 3 years ago too.

Life goes on I guess.
