There's nothing morally wrong about two consenting adults doing whatever they want to their own bodies, at all. The problem lies with bringing kids into the equation. But the thing is, there are plenty of bigger genetic factors that can cause a higher risk of birth defects than incest, and those are perfectly legal.

In general, people overstate how likely it is for the child of two relatives to have a birth defect in the first place.

Although the problem with incest is that most families who practice it are missing a few screws. And the mutant hellspawn that inevitably come with that are a thing too.

Again, that's only the result of incest that was caught and broadcasted. I bet there's people out there that practice it but don't have hellspawn offspring or are missing too many screws. We only ever see the bad stuff.
