Aragorn: The air to Gondor. A respected leader in Middle Earth. Weilding his sword Narsil he is a formidable foe in all areas of combat.

Jon Snow: The bastered son to Ned Stark. A member of the Knights Watch. A tremendous leader and skilled in nearly all areas of combat.

So... Who will be--The Deadliest Warrior?

What?

You might as well put a Hobbit against a Balrog.

Spoiler
Aragorn is not only of a line of Kings with abnormal prowess, but he literally has the blood of immortals in him, which give him some special abilities.
He was also trained with the best fighters of Middle Earth and can best things like Uruk-Hai which dwarf most men and are much stronger to boot.

This is literally the SAS vs some rioters.

If the things I learned about Jon are true. Aragon may have a goo fight.

We're just talking about a straight up sword duel, right?
Because otherwise we're bringing in Aragorn's mastery of woodcraft and the fact he can make himself nigh invisible.

emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
Alright, nerd sperg out incoming:

Aragorn hands down.

I get that people love Jon as a Luke Skywalker archetype, but he's not even a top tier fighter in the GoT universe, let alone a feasible contender for Aragorn. A better match up would be Barristan Selmy or Jaimie Lannister, but even then that would still be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Aragorn has battled orcs and goblins, Uruk-hai and Ringwraiths, and has fought and led Men into numerous battles, both large and small, including the Battle of the Hornburg, and the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. He is also descended from a legendary race of Man, The Numenoreans. His bloodline is evident when one considers that during the events of The Lord of the Rings, he is already over 80 years of age, meaning 80 years experience as a ranger and a swordsman.

Jon Snow is 15 at the beginning of Game Of Thrones. Sure, he showed expert strategic skill during the Battle of Castle Black, but it wasn't anything Aragorn couldn't accomplish, not to mention he had height superiority and help from the Mannis. He's also a decent swordsman but he's no where near the tier of Barristan, Arthur Dayne, or Jaimie Lannister, who I also doubt would be able to fare against Aragorn.

I think what it boils down to is the different writing styles Martin and Tolkein employ. Martin grounds his universe in a very realistic gritty setting where good doesn't necessarily always triumph over evil. Tolkein on the other hand, establishes his universe amongst fantastical heroes and gods, where good always triumphs over evil. The latter will always beat the former.

My boy Aragorn is a decendant of the Dúnedain and high king of Gondor. Jon Snow is the Lord Commander of a bunch of barely trained criminals tasked with fighting desperate barbarians who are massively underequipped.

Sorry bruh, Aragorn would wipe the floor with Jon.

Jon has Longclaw, a Valyrian Steel sword which is as light as a stick, but stronger than normal swords and apparently makes people more skilled with the blade just by holding it.  He also has Ghost, a direwolf that he can warg into, though his warging abilities are Level n00b.  He's a high-above-average swordsman who can take out multiple enemies, but has trouble with King-Beyond-The-Wall Mance Raydar.  As far as commanding goes, he can give out simple tasks and orders, but cannot make orders without lowering the Opinion Meter of the people serving him.

Aragorn carries Narsil, the sword of Isildur that was reforged under the watch of Elven blacksmiths, who are the best at their craft.  He is an able warrior and, if we go by Peter Jackson's standards, can go Dynasty Warrior on a whole fucking battalion of enemies.  He also does not afraid of anything and can inspire 1,000 men to smash against 100,000 Orcs and Black Uruks.  That's fucking awesome.

Aragorn wins hands down.  It'd be a nice fight, but Jon would lose.

Aragorn fought off 4 Nazgul at the Watchtower.  Talion got buttfucked by three of Sauron's servants.

Now I can't really remember, but weren't all Nine gathered there?
So, not only did he fight off four of them, but, if the others were there, he made all of them run away.

Aragorn is canon though.
He can't fight something that doesn't exist.

Lol

Anyone who thinks that any main character from ASOIAF could beat any main character from LotR doesn't know jack shit about the lore.

It's not even a bias thing, LotR's characters are just absurdly strong within the context of their characters. Add that to the fact that Aragorn is literally the best human swordsman on Middle Earth and you have a buttfucked Jon Snow.

I think that may have just been movie-LOTR, because I know around that same time Gandalf, after escaping Isengard, solo'd three Nazgul and made them run away leaving brown streaks upon the ground.

But still, Aragorn is badass.  IDC if Talion is wraith-possessed, he still fucking died against three Generals while Aragorn solo'd FOUR Nazgul at once.

I don't see what your point is considering Jon Snow isn't canon to LotR either.
