My brother just got his license and my parents are thinking about getting him a used light pickup, something like a 2-door Tacoma, Ranger, etc.

Experience, recommendations?

Eh, I'd prefer something like, 1998 or newer. I can only imagine an 80's steel body Ram being a major gas hog.

as you said, a tocoma

i've had a 2004 tocoma trd with four doors and it ran really good

it was a V6 but I'm pretty sure there's a 4 banger model that might get better gas mileage

i've had a 2004 tocoma trd with four doors and it ran really good

Yeah, I had a 1998 4Runner SR5 that I loved. I know the Taco sits on the same chassis and the interior is mostly the same. That's kinda what I'm leaning toward at this point. Though I do prefer the Prerunner variety, personally, he wouldn't have a need for it.

ohh yeah the 4runner is an impressive machine

a lot more power than you think'd think it'd have

i haven't owned one but my buddy has had 2 of them and i liked both them a lot
