So you're purposely expecting something to be unrealistically good so that when you listen to it you'll be disappointed? And of course you're aware that doing this is just going to guarantee that you'll be disappointed. So do you consciously try to get yourself to hate things to help justify anti-natalism or are you not even aware of what you're doing?
kendrick lamar is a straight-edge, "conscious" rapper who raps about relevant issues as opposed to sex, drugs, or moneywhat reason would i willingly or "purposely" choose to dislike or be disappointed by his musici'm asking people to take the album down to a more realistic notch so that i won't be disappointed
you're hearing some overhype, but it really is a very good album. only one track i didnt like. he's made consistent improvement over the course of the 3 albums he's released so far. his music is pretty unique in the rap game, especially this album.here's the opening track off the new album, To Pimp a ButterflyYouTubealso, he isnt straight edge. he's a former alcoholic, and he's drinking again. he doesnt smoke weed because his first blunt was laced with either coke or angel dust. he just happens to be very conscious of these issues, like you said.
