Even though I haven't been here or spoken to any of you guys in a long time, I remember that some of you guys aren't not the college types. Therefore, I do not expect any info that I need. But I'm pretty sure there's some of you guys out here that are completely normal. So, I ask you guys this: Should I live on or off campus? Is any of this worth it?

I guess I would prefer opinions from people who live here in California. But anything is fine.

Generally speaking, most colleges nowadays require freshman (and some sophomores) to live on campus. It has it's perks - closer to your classes and professors, helps you get used to living away from home, helps people make friends, etc.

That being said, I'm an advocate for getting your own places (or a place with close friends) as soon as you can.

Definitely preferred off-campus.  The privacy, quality, and price was a lot better.

On top of that, my school forced meal-plans on people living on campus, and it was a dry campus.

The only problems that come up are if your roommates are shitheads who can't take care of themselves or stop paying for things.

Here in Sweden on-campus dorms are pretty much unheard of, so I can't say how that is like. But I live off-campus and it's alright I guess.

Off campus is better. But like Icy said, many 4 year colleges now make you live on campus freshman year.

Off campus, community college is what I would suggest if you can afford it.

I currently go to GCC here in California.

i am, the closest schools are my top priority, honestly. cal state san bernardino is, like, 10-15 minutes from where my house is, so i hope i'm at least accepted into that one

i applied for cal state san bernardino, fullerton, poly, and la. honestly, the last 3 are just there for backup, might as well apply for others if it's free anyways

as for the uc's, i put davis, riverside, berkley, and la. again, the last 2 are there just b/c i can.

CSU: Pomona, San Luis Obispo, San Francisco, Long Beach, and Los Angeles

I doubt I'll be accepted in UCB or UCLA, but it would it super lit if I get into UCLA as its the closest school to my house.
Most of the CSU campuses that I'm applying to are backups

yeah, i'm only REALLY looking to get into cal state san bernardino (closest school) and uc davis (i'm tryna be a vet, good program) riverside is fairly close too, that's my 3rd backup i guess

yeah dude, that's sorta the same with me. i'd like to move out of my house and MAYBE go up north (davis) but at the same time i think i wouldn't like it... i dunno, we'll see what happens.

I prefer to stay here in Southern California, if that is what you are referring to.

The hall I went to had some great chefs cooking for us, along with most other amenities taken care for us. Shit's expensive but it made the first year much more tolerable.
