Someone doesn't necessarily have to identify as an "Anti-theist" to be one. It's like how most people are actually feminists, but don't say it because the word "Feminist" carries a negative connotation because of the social justice warrior groups. Anybody who thinks that religion is a bad influence and would prefer to have it gone, even if they don't say it, is an anti-theist.

These anti-theists like Sam Harris and Dawkins are identical to the religious. Instead of worshipping god, they worship scientific materialism. For people who like to go on about how science doesn't have all the answers, they seem to be extremely dogmatic about empiricism being the only correct way to draw conclusions about the nature of existence. I personally don't believe in God, but my head isn't so far up my own ass as to say I have the correct tools and philosophy in which to make conclusions about reality while discarding every other form of enquiry as pseudoscience.

It's not that it's the only "correct" way.

It's the only way. Period. Without empirical evidence, there is nothing. Anything you could use as evidence for anything is, by definition, empirical evidence. Because you have to be able to sense it. You cannot use anything other than the senses to prove the existence of something. You can't simply reason out the existence of god.

That's not dogma, either. That would be like saying anyone who believes that 2+2=4 is dogmatic, because they believe that mathematics is the only way to draw conclusions about... mathematics. It's just bumfuck stupid thing to say.
