I hope Marvel does something different with Spidey in the MCU. Maybe have an older Peter Parker who's gave up being Spiderman for 20 years because of Gwen Stacys death and comes back to mentor Miles Morales after he gets bit by a similar spider so that he can become the new Spiderman? That could totes work!

im showing my new-ageyness but i think miles morales would be the perfect choice, with donald glover playing the role that was built for him.

andrew garfields acting isn't canon. I mean his heartfelt chat with Harry had my heart beating fast because I actually though they were going to do something. That's all the second movie really had going for it imo.

Garfield is a good Spider-Man, and a terrible Peter Parker. Toby McGuire was a terrible Spider-Man, and good Peter Parker. They need a mix of the two.

This is 100% accurate. Although altogether I think Garfield is better for the role if they ever plan to implement him into the Avengers, he isn't a very good Peter Parker at all (pre-bite)

Miles Morales Spiderman has no good villains or supporting characters.  Anyways, Marvel reveiled that he'll be in high school again (aged around 15-16).  If I remember right he's played by the Maze Runner lead.

Yeah me too, I thought the whole point was Peter is some nerdy outcast and being Spidey gives him more confidence. The movies did a terrible job of that.

I was told that Toby Maguire had the personalities backwards regarding Spiderman and Peter, but apparently not.

But they could use the classic villains such as Venom, Doc Ock, Scorpion, Rhino etc. My idea of having Peter Parker being older is that he was just a street level superhero in the late 80's early 90's, he doesn't fight any real supervillins, just criminals and all that. Then hangs up the costume after his gf (MCU Gwen Stacy) gets killed (by who or how can be left up to whoever). This version is also slightly bitter towards SHIELD for leaving him out of the Avengers (remember when Nick Furry told Stark at the end of Iron Man that he wasn't the only superhero?), the reason was that he was probably too much of a moody dick.
  have the older Peter Parker working at the Bugle with his rival Eddie Brock (to set up a proper Venom down the line) and when Miles Morales gets bite, Parker decides to train him to become the new Spiderman. Simple. Just so we don't have to have another Parker origin story and so we also don't have to go down the SJW route and skip Parker by just including Morales.
But if Marvels made their mind up then fuck it :/
