I'm sitting here feeling pretty sore and stupid. I let myself slip into a deep black mood on thursday, then got to drinking. Stupid, stupid. I went out to one of my favourite spots to write, down by the river, and I actually wrote a nice little piece, but it didn't help. To cut a long story short, drinking continued, on an empty stomach, and at some point in the night I tried to kill myself by throwing myself in front of a car. I don't remember it too clearly, but I obviously didn't pull it off since I'm still here. Someone called an ambulance and they came to pick me up. I mustn't have even damaged the car because nobody ever heard from them. But in hindsight, I wouldn't want to have done that to some poor driver.

The next thing I remember is abusing hospital staff, drunkenly trying to get them to discharge me since the sun was coming up, and trying to hit on nurses with my face still covered in dried blood. I never wanted to be one of those dumbasses who gets angry at hospital staff. Now I'm sitting here, body all battered, with staples in my face (apparently I wouldn't let them stitch me up), a lot of loose teeth and one tooth missing.

Dumbest thing I've ever done. So. Fucking. Dumb. I haven't told any of my real life friends yet, I just cancelled my weekend activities and said that I'd had an 'accident.' And I certainly don't want to talk about what brought the mood on, that's far too private and something for me to deal with myself.

You can comment on how stupid I am, but please don't lecture me, because as always, I already understand everything that's wrong with what I did. Feels sorta unreal, but at least I'm still alive.
