Alright so, I dry brushed the hilt, still need to apply the handle leather, but with the actual blade.....do I dry brush the edge (silver side) very lightly black to give it a worn look and or dry brush the black part of the blade silver for a similar effect

Or leave it as it is, I personally feel that its a bit bland and needs more character. But I need thoughts. Help me friends!

I suppose you could make it a little more weathered but all-in-all nice buster sword. FF7 is the only FF that matters and Cloud is a cool guy.

Im just worried Ill lose the nice sheen I currently have on it, but then again I could just get a gloss clear coat to counter that?

Edges stay polished when you sharpen them. Distress the black part.

All made out of pine wood, a tiny bit of waterproof plywood, all sanded down to kingdom come and painted and sanded again, repeat the process about 7 times before the wood grain was completely gone.

5 bolts in the hilt, railing for the handle, and parts of a hose nossle as well as a pipe for the pommel.

Just using high quality spray paint, but I have about 4 cans of each, flat black, gloss black and 'shiny' silver.

Primed with a plastic primer (it works) and going to be sealed with a gloss clear coat.

So this was made with a mailing tube as the base, then 6 rings of tough waterproof plywood. Because the plywood wasnt thick enoughI had to cut out 12 rings, and stuck to together, this took a while and a lot of liquid nails, needed different sizes to get the effect then power sanded them to a smooth round shape, fitted neatly on the tube, and primed, sprayed and drybrushed to get the used metal effect.


Still need to apply the bolts to the ends of it, you'll all see soon

Yeah I've always loved the game but he was quite the emo (what is this 2009) so I wasnt ever really sure about cosplaying as him, but thought fuck it I wanna make a big ass sword, and man its been fun.

Not sure what to do next year, need something relevant to the year. Any thoughts?
