further, these news mediums pride themselves on being outside of common journalistic integrity and actually use their radically unthorough methods of "research" to attract their viewers, because that's what people who subscribe to infowars want; the nitpicking of details to create this vision of reality that splits from an overarching analysis of facts presented by respectable mediums because it chooses to weld these things they have picked out into an absurdist image instead of using the image provided by reality itself

The seemingly coordinated banning seems like a bad idea, regardless, as it just gives the guy more reason to claim the establishment is oppressing him and his supporters.

I may not agree with his practices but, regardless, I still value freedom of expression over protecting people from his ideas. I would never presume to say that, because I disagree with Alex Jones, other people should't be allowed to listen to what he says.

People should absolutely be protected from propaganda designed to harm the fabric of society.

I'm not willing to give up my right or anyone else's right to listen to controversial or offensive ideas for the sake of ideological stability in society. Sounds like a dystopian nanny state just waiting to happen.

YouTube (And all other big tech sites for that matter) should be regulated as utilities and thus beholden to the US Constitution because Google is a US based firm and is currently the main platform for people to air their political grievances. Nobody should be kicked off unless they are doing something explicitly illegal.

So you're a libertarian, which is the political affiliation that's all about laissez-faire capitalism, minimal government and maximum economic freedom at its very core, that supports the extensive regulation of and government involvement in "all big tech sites"? That seems a bit contradictory. It also makes me wonder about the practical feasibility of any of that. The thing about tech companies offering services is that they can pretty easily change where they're located. No big tech company would want to be regulated and treated as a public utility so they'd simply move their headquarters to, say, Europe where existing hate speech laws would just give them more of a reason to continue removing this kind of content.

Oligarchy is hardly capitalism as hardly any competition is actually taking place. There is (currently) no competition in regards to social media because big tech's competitors are not yet big enough to be viable. I support and endorse them when I can, but they aren't at the point where they can realistically compete yet. Given how often big tech firms collude with one another I'd say they're probably violating some anti-trust laws anyway. Big tech is so big that if you get kicked off, then you effectively do not have the right exercise your freedom of speech. I'd love if we could solve the issue of online censorship through pure capitalism, but I fear that YouTube in particular has become too big for its own good and the government has to step in and explicitly make it beholden to the US Constitution.
