Obviously it works best with famous people/characters, but there's also things like "your crush" "your brother" etc. This is why there's questions about if you have met the character.

It's usually pretty accurate at both. However, when the two overlap, it takes a lot longer time and several guesses. In other words, if you know someone who is considered famous enough to have their own character entry. Since it's based on answers others have given, and obviously not everyone would answer es to these questions, the result gets skewed.

Let's give a rough approximation.
He asks you a question with 5 answers every time, but some answers are vaguer than others, so let's say he gets 1.5 bits of information per question.
He can ask a variable number of questions before his first guess, but let's say 20 for something he has trouble with.
So 20*1.5 is 30 bits of information.
In other words, he could be expected (with a lot of training from users) to successfully guess the most commonly picked 2^30 = a bit more than 1 billion characters on his first try.

It seems to be absolutely worthless with Kid Icarus bosses. It couldn't guess Twinbellows or Hewdraw.
