Adventure backpacks.

Try to go back to when you were a 5 year old. What would you put in a backpack your dad got you for adventures?

I got all 3 kids backpacks. They have a flashlight, compass, water bottle and binoculars. What did I miss?

a blanket, extra clothes, or some sort of rag?

i have a backpack in my car, thats certainly not for adventuring, but i keep extra clothes as well as a blanket for emergencies

For my youngest this is a given. He’s potty training, so extra clothes are a necessity.

What stuff had magic? What signified you were on an adventure? I got the truly practical.

how about a book to write down anything?

sounds lame but maybe they could use it as their "adventure log" or note rare sightings

Tiny pocket knife and some matches. Best time I had as a child was learning how to whittle from my grandpa and learning how to safely construct a fire for smores n shit.

That’s a pretty good idea. They can’t write yet, but my oldest can draw.
