Imagine where you'd be if you did what you know you should do with 100% effort

Title is kinda weird. Thought popped into my head recently

There's this guy my age at the gym who started going at the same time I did (6-7 years ago). Over that time I consistently put the effort in to work out hard, eat right, gain gym knowledge etc, while he half assed his workouts, drank/ate terribly, and was not consistent. He looks the same if not WORSE now, even though he still has the goal of getting a nice body. Imagine where he'd be if he had eaten correctly and learned to workout properly. He'd have a fantastic body.

I'm translating this to other areas of my life. What if all those years ago I had been reading, investing, meditating, working consistently. Where would I be now? It really excites me for what's to come because I finally understand the concept that all it takes is a bunch of small, consistent steps towards your goals to reach them. Time is going to pass either way.

I really couldn't tell you. I have so many conflicting goals that doing all of them with 100% effort would be a logical impossibility.

I kind of know what you mean. But I'm not worried about slacking on my goal, I'm worried about wasting that effort on a stupid goal. I'm in ambition limbo.

Id Probably be richer, and better looking. (More attention to work and eating right/working out) But I sure wouldn't have as many friends or memories with family.

Why do you guys assume your relationships/family would suffer? Those are things you should be putting effort into as well. If anything putting my all into whatever I'm doing has made all my relationships that actually matter STRONGER while the ones that didn't really matter kinda faded.

70k a year job or higher, no student loans and a house to boot, with a modest mortgage.

Or overseas working and training to be pilot.

To put 100% of your effort just means to work as hard as you possibly can in that time. No cutting corners or making excuses. He's not saying to devote 100% of your time to one single thing.

If you don't work your hardest at what you're doing, why even try at all?
