This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but a whimper.
1 - Seeing the first internal combustion automobile. Young'ins today will never live in a world where they didn't exist.

2 - Newsboys striking for fair wages laws. Kids today are nancies, not having to fight for their living.

3 - Living without electricity. We did just fine readin' by candlelight and using old-fashioned fire for all our necessities.

4 - Having your father die in the Gold Rush. Kids today have their fathers go halfway around the World today, ours did it just fine here.

5 - Only spoiled 1910s brats play with Lincoln Logs, we had to make do with a hoop-and-stick.

6 - Living in a Union of just forty-four states. Now there's forty-eight.

7 - Remembering William McKinley as President. This yellow-belly Harding will probably be around for a while once you 1910s kids start votin'.

8 - Remembering when the womenfolk, rightfully, weren't allowed to vote.

9 - Havin' to use photograph cylinders.

  • snap pants
  • (spice) girl power
  • being freaked out when I was nine watching the video for Black Hole Sun
  • WWF
  • dial up noise
  • the joy of installing my first desktop theme on our new windows 95 (bond theme)
  • getting a super NES bundled with Yoshi's island
  • spending a summer swimming in our pool, making warhammer and playing FFVII in a dark room
  • Tazos
  • Oddbodz (pictured)
  • lining up to see Lion King
  • discovering anime
  • my first primary school girlfriends (lol)
  • taping songs off the radio
  • every kid wants to be a badass and watch the South Park movie
  • pokemon not being worn-out consumer hipster bullshit yet
  • really bad porn on floppy discs

I'm a millennium kid and I grew up with VHSs, Cassettes and Floppy Disks, and PS1. I remember the Tweenies, Madagascar, 9/11, but what is strongest in my mind, probably because of the huge impact it had, was the financial crash, and the rise of tech.

Lol seriously, anyone 18-10 should consider themselves privileged to have grown up during the tech transition, best of the 90s and early adopters of the future
