"flaming nipple chops"-Your host, the man they call Ghost.

To say, 'nothing is true', is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, 'everything is permitted', is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic.

Republic Commando is still canon, ya coont.
>ancient feud
>sith killing millions

hi noelle
What the hell else would they have been doing, dummy?
Not a clue, but it certainly isn't part of the universe anymore.
Old Republic era is still canon, it's mentioned in the movies. The Jedi and Sith used to fight, that's pretty given. Stop using "it isn't canon anymore" as an excuse for your argument being bad, you ignored 3 other points, and the deal with canon consistency has been a hot mess since TCW Animated series came into existence. Really canon only exists as what you think is canon at this point with how convoluted and horribly the situation has been handled.

I mean, holy shit is Lucas just crazy and indecisive.
Quote
"After Star Wars was released, it became apparent that my story—however many films it took to tell—was only one of thousands that could be told about the characters who inhabit its galaxy. But these were not stories that I was destined to tell. Instead, they would spring from the imagination of other writers, inspired by the glimpse of a galaxy that Star Wars provided. Today, it is an amazing, if unexpected, legacy of Star Wars that so many gifted writers are contributing new stories to the Saga."
―George Lucas, from the introduction of Splinter of the Mind's Eye, 1996[src]
There was a feud sure, but it's never exactly explained in the movies. The whole "Sith killing millions" was established in the EU, which was, as we all know, retconned by Disney. You're right in the fact that the EU was one big stinking pile of horseshit that any low grade writer used as a quick cash grab to peddle their mediocre stories, but now that Disney has done us all a favour by starting anew, your arguments are pretty much moot.

If anyone's twisting the lore to suit their own argument, it's you. I intentionally ignored your other points because they're for all intents and purposes, irrelevant to the contemporary universe.
>I'm twisting lore to suit my argument
>3rd sentence into 1st paragraph of your response is twisting the meaning of a quote I copied into something
that I didn't even imply

Quote
>murders people that want him tried for being the leader of an ancient cult that used to commonly kill millions was freaking evil.
>has cloned child soldiers that want to leave the army and live a normal life killed by Special Operations teams
>caused Galactic Civil war so that he could gain more power of Republic Senate
>slaughters society of ancient warrior monks b/c of ancient feud
Yeah, that's all so irrelevant and doesn't tie into the universe at all.

IIRC, Disney said if EU shit was mentioned in the movies or the cartoon show, it's canon.
They said if any material from the EU was used,, then those specific parts would be canon.

Republic Commando isn't canon.
So what Delta Squad is canon but the events of Republic Commando aren't?

I mean, fuck. I've seen 4 or 5 different posts about it today.

That's what people make fun of/get tired about. Yeah, I literally skim through half of his shit because much of it is redundant or so introspective I literally stop fucking caring. I don't need to hear the details of why he came to that conclusion over his 20 years of life, just give me the fucking conclusion.

Not sure what you're even trying to say at this point. All I know is you made an erroneous statement about canon that objectively doesn't exist anymore, I called you out, and now you're damage controlling. Quite pathetically at that, might I add.

It isn't. Only your third and fourth point are canonically relevant, with the fourth point being extremely ambiguous since we no longer know what caused the feud between the two factions.

If you want to go full autismus maximus here, sure, the EU exists in the sense that the material can still be read and "enjoyed." It doesn't however, exist in the sense that's actually part of the lore anymore. Hence my statement that you took out of context.

What the fuck are you talking about? The prequels? Where in this discussion did I ever say I enjoyed them?

I acknowledge they're canon sure, but that's not tantamount to actually liking them. Something you seem unable to discern.

This whole argument could've been resolved if you had just been slightly more mature and didn't try to damage control your way out of it.

Also I'm not defending anything. I'm simply questioning the moral stance of the Jedi and The Republic. Seeing as how the EU actually gave us a backstory between the Jedi and Sith (and a questionable one at that), and seeing as how it no longer exists in a canonical context, all we're given in the movies is "the sith are bad because." Which in and of itself, isn't necessarily bad since Star Wars was originally meant to be a medieval knights tale in space. That is, until Lucas had to be a hack and whore the franchise out.

>not manning up and admitting you fucked up

This whole argument could've been resolved if you had just been slightly more mature and didn't try to damage control your way out of it.

Also I'm not defending anything. I'm simply questioning the moral stance of the Jedi and The Republic. Seeing as how the EU actually gave us a backstory between the Jedi and Sith (and a questionable one at that), and seeing as how it no longer exists in a canonical context, all we're given in the movies is "the sith are bad because." Which in and of itself, isn't necessarily bad since Star Wars was originally meant to be a medieval knights tale in space, until Lucas had to be a hack and whore the franchise out.

"HAHA LE BUTTHURD GOT REKD EX DEE DEE DEE"

lmao, okay. isn't it prime time for browsing reddit now?

Whut r Legends?
Objectively not canon?

If you want to go full autismus maximus here, sure, the EU exists in the sense that the material can still be read and "enjoyed." It doesn't however, exist in the sense that's actually part of the lore anymore. Hence my statement that you took out of context.

Except, you know unless you're seriously daft, this one is pretty obviously canonically relevant.
>murders people that want him tried for being the leader of an ancient cult that used to commonly kill millions was freaking evil.
Quote me a line of dialogue in the prequels or OT where this was actually stated. And I don't mean just a "hurr durr de sif r ebil becus." I actually mean the "killing millions" part, in crystal clear exposition.

So, Palpatine could be absolved of his crimes of ordering the death of thousands of warrior-monks that were serving the Republic because some ancient feud means that the Jedi had it coming?
If it was actually canon, which it's fucking not for the millionth time.

Though past elements of the Expanded Universe have been declared non-canon as a whole, they remain a resource for future Star Wars material to reference elements of the EU, thus bringing these elements into the new continuity as canon.

Nice evasion there.

Forgot to put the line through the millions part the second time I posted that because you couldn't read it the first, my bad. Also,
>"Dis nigga seriously defending the Sith, saying they aren't bad guys?"

Oh, okay you are right. Palps just killed them all for no real reason given, which is much morally better.

If what constitutes as a "rek" or whatever meme buzzword you guys are currently using right now is tantamount to repeating the same points and admitting you made a mistake, then it must be pretty easy to "rek" someone here.
