My boyfriend and I are talking about taking a trip to Japan with another couple.

My partner is studying erasmus in Australia for about 4 months next year, so I'll have to entertain myself.

It'll probably be the most isolated I've been since I finished University and went back home, although now I have a job to keep me occupied, friends a tram-ride away, and money coming in for my hobbies to stave off boredom unlike last time.

I'll have to brush up my German though as I rely too much on my partner to order things in another language. I can do it fine, I just haven't been keeping my practice up beyond Duolingo and saying my please's and thank you's.

I should really start working on my Spanish and Italian again, I haven't really worked on them in almost a decade.

In 2023 it was the worst year of my life. I had hope that 2024 would be better and it was, 2024 has been good to me.

As for 2025 I want to travel more. I'll see what happens as the new year approaches.

We’re trying to plan a week long trip for Norway in September, but we have some financial difficulties we need to take care of first. I’m hoping to get a good chunk of it (if not all of it) taken care of by the end of February.

I just sent in my passport for renewal in case I need to leave the country. Spooky. But other than that:

I am planning on aggressively paying down my mortgage and get that paid off by end of year and also plan to get to a point with my Pokemon / Yu-Gi-Oh eBay business + my stock investments where I can quit my job.

I just came out of a three day power outage when I had all year to build a generator, so I'm fucking pissed. If I can get some small scale electrical grid and introduce backup systems to my place in the form of electric heat, a wood stove, and a gasifier that creates methane to run a gas stove, then that's the plan.

Ideally, get some big wins and boosts on the stock market, but honestly, the canadian stock market is fucking abysmal to work on unless you already have step 1: Be rich already solved.

Other than that, it's the usual. Work and monitor my health so that I don't have another cardiac event, which I'm failing at since I had one last week.

I'm also writing a novel that logs the next ten years of my life and the projects I'm working on, so if in the next ten years I'm alive, I can publish it and maybe make a couple bucks.

Thanks! I was lucky. I was able to put like 30% down thanks to my parents, so that's another reason it went so fast haha. I'm definitely aware I'm in a privileged position.
