That's understandable, coming from a journalist major.

A bunch of reprehensible psycho twats thought it would be suitable enough to inject their putrid ideology into the gaming industry then subsequently call the victim card when criticism got a little bit too rough for their delicate sensibilities.

That's my thoughts on Gamergate.

I've no real idea what is going,and frankly don't care. Gaming journalism was always generally crap, and reviews always appeared rigged (and recently come to light that some were accentuating the positives of games such as BF4 to boost sales).

Though I do have a qualm with this:

The gaming universe has expanded beyond consoles in recent years to include players — many of them women — of casual and social games such as "FarmVille" and "Candy Crush." According to one survey, 48% of gamers are now female.

Call me a console elitist, but I'd hardly call Candy Crush or FarmVille fracking games, definitely not "social games". Time wasters maybe, but not games and I'd vouch that it screws up the stats a bit. I want to see stats for PC and Consoles, phones can have their own stat which I'd guess would be largely a female base.

The worst part about the entire thing is that the media is blaming gamergate for the actions of people trying to discredit gamergate.

Seriously, game journalists should just do their job and report on games, instead of generate constant political click-bait.  Plus, I really don't give 2 shits what Cracked.com thinks about sexism in the industry: get back to writing useless stories about cats and Nickelback, or whatever.

A good chunk of Anita's arguments are just pure cherry-picked bullshit targeting games that she clearly didn't play enough of, but she does make a few valid points at times.  Either way, I don't think the gaming industry supports rape culture as much as these SJWs making victims out of themselves like to make it out to be doing: and because of that, they like to label people like me as a defensive man who doesn't want to see change.

On top of that, it's really easy to make yourself seem right when you turn ratings/comments off.  Then the only way people can see counter-arguments/public opinion is if they do extensive research, digging around on Twitter, and various no-name Youtube response videos: who's going to waste their time doing that?

The extremists sending death threats are complete retards: aside from the fact that they're sending death threats over a Youtube series, could you think of a faster way to make someone look like a hero for doing what they're doing?

Was interested in to it when it first came into the scope of the Internet, however I couldn't care less about it now. It's been dragged out way too long.

I generally fall into the TotalBiscuit / Erik Kain / Boogie camp.
Started off neutral, but ended up getting pushed towards pro GG because of journalists flat out lying and twisting the narrative.
