English should be the primary language of the US.

and it's just blatantly disrespectful to the people of the country you're in
I didn't take you for one to play the "muh feels" card.

The funny thing is in school they never teach you that english, nor any language for that matter, has been determined as the national language. I think it kind of defeats the whole "melting pot" angle we were going for as a country.

I support the idea that US citizens should have at least a moderate grasp of English, but I would never argue it be necessary, or push for an "Official" language of the country. Like others have said, that wouldn't actually do anything beyond make a statement nobody is obligated to follow. My summer job is at a family-owned picnic area/waterslides, and as someone who needs to communicate with customers frequently (Parking instructions, questions, etc), it's frustrating when the people in the car have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about. It should be expected.

Except respect doesn't mean anything. Nothing happens if someone disrespects you.

Half of the South would be deported to...somewhere.

I do wanna say I find it funny how many of the European countries that liberals praise require you to speak their language to live there. But when someone one wants to make immigrants learn English here they throw a hissy fit.
Wait, you mean to tell me sometimes people don't support things 100%, all or nothing? Just because I like some things that are happening in Europe doesn't mean everything needs to be exactly that way.

What a crazy concept!

Is it in an immigrants best interest to speak English when they're in the US? Yes. Should we force them, legally, to do so? Of course not, because that's stupid and a waste of time.

respect doesn't mean anything
now it all suddenly makes sense
It just clicked for you? Respect isn't tangible. Nothing happens to you if I do or don't respect you. Just like people who are all "I'm offended" - well, nothing happens to them if they're offended.

Except people not speaking English in our English country is not only disrespectful, but detrimental. Retard
